Should I have Chemotherapy?

Your doctors only recommend chemotherapy if they think it will do you more good than harm.
You may have heard lots of stories about chemotherapy so you may be unsure of what to do.
If you are unsure read the rest of this booklet so you understand more about chemotherapy.
You should ask your family doctor, specialist or nurse as many questions as you want.
You may want to get a second opinion from another specialist to check that he or she thinks
you should have chemotherapy. And you may want to check if there are
other treatments you could have.
You don't have to have chemotherapy if you don't want to. It's the same as any other
treatment - you can say "no". But before you say no you need to weigh up the advantages
and disadvantages of this treatment for you. Remember that everybody is different
and everyone's cancer is different. So what may suit another person may not suit you.
You may react in a different way to somebody else who has had the treatment.
You won't necessarily get the same side effects as somebody else who has had chemotherapy.
